The adding requirements of iron scrap are as follows:
1, the amount of iron filings is determined by the content of silicon oxide in bauxite, but the content of iron oxide in bauxite also affects the amount of iron filings, the iron produced by iron oxide reduction can replace a part of the iron filings. When the silicon content of ferroalloy exceeds 20%, its magnetic performance is greatly reduced, and the silicon content reaches 30%~33%. The smelting process of brown Fused Alumina requires that the concentration of silicon in ferroalloy be less than 16%, that is, the ratio of iron-silicon (Fe mass / Si mass) is about 5.5.
2, the commonly used iron scrap has cast iron scrap and steel scrap. Cast iron scrap is better than steel scrap. When the aluminum content reaches 4%, the ferroalloy loses its magnetism. The influence of aluminum on the magnetism of ferroalloy is much stronger than that of silicon. Considering that alumina inevitably has a small amount of reduction in the smelting process, the aluminum content in the iron chips in brown Fused Alumina should not exceed 0.4%. The carbon content of cast iron scrap is 5~10 times higher than that of steel scrap.
3, if the use of steel chips, to be processed, so that its length is not more than 60mm. Because the long steel chips will reduce the resistance of the furnace material, so that the electrode can not be deep in the feed layer, but also easy to cause suspension, affecting the brown Fused Alumina smelting operation.
4, in addition to the length (or particle size), there are chemical composition. Fe> 88%, Si <2.5%, and Al <0.4% were required.
